Riddle Revisited
I’m the part of the bird that’s not in the sky. I can swim in the ocean and yet remain dry. What am I?
No mom, it’s not a one-winged bird wrapped in saran wrap.

What happened to the perfect weather we were supposed to have today? Yeah, I guess it was ok in the morning – horribly windy though! Man, the apartment is a shakin’ this evening!
The Wal-Mart on Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines is being revamped. Everything is being moved around, which has made the floors look terrible because the marks from the shelves are very noticeable. It’s a really weird set-up in the front now….I can’t figure out what the point is. I guess it keeps people in the store longer because no one knows where anything is and they have to wander around more!
On the way in to the apartment, some folks downstairs were talking about a woman who drove into the Shopper’s Drug Mart next to our building. She apparently drove through the window and kept on going down the aisle! I hope she found what she was looking for.
Bea Arthur passed away today at the age of 86. Golden Girls is one of my favourite shows. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beatrice_Arthur
Do you need the answer to the riddle I posted yesterday, or just a hint???
Today’s symptoms: Was feeling pretty darn good in the morning and early afternoon, then a big ol’ crash! I was in bed from about 1:30 to 5:00, but the body aches didn’t let me fall asleep. At least I had the wonderful company of three cute cats!

I love taking Thursday off because it makes Wednesday feel like Friday, because I know I have the next day off. Then the next work day is Friday and who doesn’t like Friday!
Nothing too exciting planned for the weekend, other than grocery shopping and perhaps going for a flight. I think I should file my taxes too. Gee, how thrilling?!
Here’s a riddle for ya:I’m the part of the bird that’s not in the sky. I can swim in the ocean and yet remain dry. What am I?
Symptoms for the day: More fatigued than usual – I also have a bad case of the munchies! I’m starting to regret polishing off the last of the Kraft Dinner Crackers yesterday…

Twas my day off today so my little mother and I went to Niagara-On-The-Lake to wander around the shops. Does anyone else go to the Irish Shop there? They have a little cafe in the back with the most yummolicious treats, such as scones and gingie bread. Great coffee too. I had to piddidle so I went downstairs to their loo, which consists of a two piece bathroom with one toilet without a stall. Not ordinarily an issue, however, I opened the door to see a woman standing at the sink. Hello! Ever try locking the door?! She said it was ok and I could come in. Sure, I’ll just drop my drawers and do my whiz-biz while you’re standing there drying your hands at the fan dryer next to the toilet! Oh well, she was nice about it at least. After partaking at the cafe, we checked out a few more stores as we headed over to the bakery. It’s sad to see how many stores have closed or are closing. I guess it’s like that everywhere though. We went into the bakery and ended up drooling all over ourselves while admiring the delectable yummies in the display case. My mother picked up her usual scotch pies and maple tart-ays, while I picked up some meat pies and empire cookies. This was pretty much all we purchased during our shopping extravaganza – sad, eh?
After leaving NOTL, we headed over to Bon Clair to purchase a new throw for my bed. My hairless kitties like to snuggle under it while I’m at work. Once I’m home, they can often be found on my lap. I had to purchase a new one because little Abby kept getting her Soft Paws claws stuck in the stitching. Ever hear of these things? Check them out: http://www.softpaws.com They come in many different colours, but I have only found the clear in Canada. They’re a great alternative to getting your cat declawed. Abby has had the same ones on for a couple months now. They’re available at PetSmart.
One other product recommendation – Kraft Dinner Crackers. They’re the best darn cheese crackers I’ve ever had. Not too salty but loaded with cheese flavour.
That’s all for today – ta!
Today’s symptoms: Feeling pretty good in the morning and until around 2:00 in the afternoon, then slowly crashed due to the amount of walking we did during our trip to NOTL. After dinner, stayed in bed like a lifeless lump of gobblety-goop!

This entry is probably going to take a LONG time to type as there is a small, hairless kitty perched upon my right shoulder, thus I’m typing with my left hand. Check out my photo section, under “McKids” to see the mug of my precious Abby – one of my two Sphynx cats. They’re one of the rarest and most unique breed of cats – probably the most affectionate too! I’ve had Mya for over a year now and Abby for four months. Strange and unusual pets seems to be my forte, as my previous critters include rats, turtles and a skinny pig (hairless guinea pig). What can I say, being normal just isn’t my style!
Did you see the video of the guy that landing his homebuilt aircraft on a highway in Florida? Check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT58Di51wDk Where were all the cars? Why wasn’t anyone in the furniture store parking lot?
I’m still trying to recover from the the past week of thrills and excitement. I’m paying for it physically, but it sure was worth it! I would like to thank Jack, Lori and Michelle from 105.7 EZ Rock http://www.1057ezrock.com/ for having me on their program TWICE to promote and discuss the Walk for MS which took place on April 19th. I also had the wonderful experience of an interview with Laurie Walsh on 610 CKTB! http://www.610cktb.com/ Thanks, Laurie!
Today’s symptoms: Fatigue worse than normal, bad headache, poor balance, and the MS Hug http://ms.about.com/od/signssymptoms/a/ms_hug_pain.htm I left work early today and snuggled up to a batch of kitties in bed.
At last, my first blog!
What a wonderful week I just experienced! For the fourth year, I participated in the Walk for MS on April 19th. The week was filled with anticipation and anxiety, as the day approached. My biggest concern was the weather. The forecast seemed to fluctuate on an hourly basis from about Wednesday to Saturday night. Total sun, then partially cloudy, the showers, and back to sun. Do weather-folks not realize how much they are toying with people’s emotions? Pick a weather condition and stick to it – geesh! Anyway, the weather turned out to be perfect for the walkers and the flyers (moi and my passenger). I was recently interviewed by Jack and Lori on 105.7 EZ Rock, and Lori requested that I update her with the Walk/Fly events. Here is a copy of the email I sent her yesterday:
Greetings Lori,
Just to let you know, the Walk/Flight for MS was great! The weather was lovely, except for a bit of wind. Thank goodness for puke bags! Just kidding. Actually, the flight attendants were quite effecient at keeping my passenger calm during the rough spots. After making quite a few passes over the Port Dalhousie walk, we headed over to Niagara Falls. It was during this time that lunch was served. It was wonderful – steak and lobster followed by creme brule. Soon after we finished our lavish meal, we arrived at the Walk in Chippawa. There weren’t too many people – either that or they were really spread out. Next was nappy time. My passenger and I had a little snooze on the way over to Welland. We were awoken by my man-servant and told that the Welland walk site was fast approachin’! After a quick massage, we spotted the Welland walkers along the canal. A few loops overhead, then back to Port Dalhousie. It was an uneventful flight there, so we decided to watch a movie. I can’t remember what it was called, sorry about that! Just as the movie credits appeared, we arrived over the Port Dalhousie walk site. There were still quite a few people cruising the routes. I did a few circuits, tipped my wings and landed back at the greater metropolatin Niagara District Airport. What a wonderful trip! Great turnout at the walks, great weather and great company!
I look forward to taking you up for a flight. Hopefully it will be as adventurous as Sunday’s!
Cheers,
Lizzy McFly
Ok, I don’t think she fell for it, considering she knows I fly a two-seater Cessna 150. Still, it could happen – in Lizzy Land!
Seriously though, the flight was great and I’m already looking forward to next year’s Walk.
Today’s Symptoms: moderate fatigue, muscle aches in my right hand.
